Nigeria Football Federation is in discussions with FECAFOOT over the possibility of a friendly match

According to Bill Tchato, General Coordinator of the Cameroon national teams, the Nigeria Football Federation has begun discussions with the Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT) about the prospect of the Super Eagles and the Indomitable Lions meeting in an international friendly in Austria next month.

FIFA has moved the first two matchdays of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers from June to September 2021, at the request of the Confederation of African Football.
The qualifiers were postponed by FIFA so that construction on some of the stadiums that did not meet international requirements could be completed.

Before the 2022 World Cup qualifiers, Nigeria was scheduled to face Liberia and Cape Verde.
It is worthy to note that the Head coach of the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon shortlisted 36 players for these matches with some new faces and some players coming back after being absent in the Lions’ recent outings that ended in one defeat and a goalless match at the Japoma stadium in Douala.
